Behavioural Approaches to Eating while on GLP-1RA or Weight rebound Despite the fact that nutrition recommendations for people on GLP-1RA are well known, getting people to institute/act on these recommendations can be more difficult. This session reviews a framework for behavioural change and discusses some of the strategies that can be proposed to patients to empower them to move from knowing to doing.
Kim has a thriving dietetics practice based in Montreal where she been able to guide her clients toward healthy, tasty food choices that enable them to live their best lives. She is co-author of the book “The Complete Arthritis Health, Diet Guide and Cookbook” with Dr. Michael Starr which is now in its 2nd edition. Kim speaks about making healthy eating choices, transforming complex scientific information into easy to understand terms to help her clients get results even the doctor’s are happy to write home about. Kim is often asked to comment on nutrition issues by local and national journalists and is a regular contributor on Weekends with Joanne on CJAD in Montreal. Kim is a preceptor for students in Dietetics during their internship, and has been a guest lecturer at McGill for students in dietetics and medicine. She is member of the Ordre Professionelle des Diététistes Nutritionnistes de Quebec (ODNQ). . A graduate of McGill University (BSc, major dietetic) and she has participated in many continuing education sessions throughout her career. She completed the Certification in Adult Weight Management from the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics, The Learning Retreat on the Principles of interdisciplinary obesity management for dietitians offered by Obesity Canada and Dietitians of Canada and the Level 1 CHEF Coaching certificate from Harvard University. Kim has been a reviewer for Practice-based Evidence in Nutrition (PEN) -The Global Resource for Nutrition Practice.
